Bells have been rung for centuries at St Peter's, inviting people to worship.

Bells are generally rung for Sunday services, for weddings (by arrangement) and on other special occasions.

The oldest of the church bells is dated 1603, and the peal was made up to eight bells in 1762. Bells eventually show wear and have to be recast, and the last occasion on which this took place was in 1948.
